The ice climbing season is very short. It starts generally at the beginning of winter and finishes at the end of February, when temperatures are no longer low enough to guarantee maximum safety.
Free access to experienced ice fall climbers. In winter, the Anniviers Guides Office offers introductory courses to this exhilarating activity.
Ice falls climbing requires specific equipment and training. Well equipped and supervised, you will enjoy to climb on the iced waterfalls of Anniviers.
In addition to good walking shoes, gloves and appropriate clothing, the specific equipment includes :
- Crampons
- Ice axe
- Harness
- Helmet

- Information on conditions and guided acivities at the Bureau des Guides d'Anniviers
- Ten climbing routes can be available
- Top ropes can be placed on some routes with the help of a handrail
Access: cross the Barmette bridge and follow the Belvedere yellow sign. The waterfalls are easily spotted under the Belvedere flags.
