Keep a day free and strap on your snowshoes for an amazing guided hike to the Zinal Glacier! A unique winter experience.
At 2½ hours’walking distance from Zinal, the Zinal glacier originates from the encounter of 3 glaciers:
- The Grand Cornier glacier
- The Durand glacier
- The Mountet glacier
The glacier offers some natural caves carved by the stream flowing out. Access is not possible in summer, but in winter snow-shoes hikes are organised on a regular basis.
The hike takes 5 hours’ walking with 500 m height difference, on about 11 km, only in good weather conditions.
- Bring your picnic
- Equipment : Snowshoes and sticks, waterproof walking shoes, warm clothes, sunglasses, hot drinks and picnic, gaiters or waterproof pants.
