Zinal - Cabane du Petit Mountet n°5

Walk along either bank of the river Navisence. Once you are at the end of the Plats de la Lée, take the small forest track that goes up to the right, with a fine view of the waterfalls. Continue to the Cabane du Petit Mountet, which stands above the Zinal glacier.

After an initial climb of about 15 minutes, and before you reach the former cheese storeroom at Le Vichiesso, turn off onto the path on the right. This path leads through the forest to the Cabane du Petit Mountet. A pleasant alternative, either on the way up or the way down, which makes this into a circular walk (45 min - average to difficult, because of the short slippery sections, which have chains).

Take the path from the Cabane du Petit Mountet to the La Lée alpine pasture (45 min – easy). Enjoy the panoramic view and descend via the fairly steep path that joins the path to Zinal near the former cheese storeroom at Le Vichiesso (1h10 – average).
