Zinal - Cabane d'Arpitettaz n°10

Walk along either bank of the river Navisence, then take the small forest track that climbs to the right at the end of the Plats de la Lée. Turn left, leaving the path that continues to the Cabane du Petit Mountet, and walk downhill to the bridge. Cross the bridge, take the path on the right and cross a second bridge. After this, follow the path that skirts Lac d’Arpitettaz and continues to the Cabane d’Arpitettaz, with a lovely view over the peaks and glaciers.
Variant 1
The Pas du Chasseur shortcut, at the end of the Plats de la Lée, above the right bank of the river Navisence, should be avoided by anyone who suffers from vertigo or who is walking with children or a dog. The Pas du Chasseur is a small cliff with chains, and should be attempted only by those who possess the necessary abilities (1h20 - difficult).
Variant 2
To walk to the Cabane de Tracuit via the Col de Milon, take the path that goes off to the right below the Cabane d’Arpitettaz and follow it to the col (1h). The path that descends from the col to a large area of scree is very steep and is fitted with chains (the slope in shade is often icy or wet). You should find out beforehand about conditions on this path (3h – difficult).
