Zinal - Lac d'Arpittetaz par le Roc de la Vache n°7

From the car park, go back onto the road above, which passes in front of the Auberge Alpina. Take the Route de Tracuit (Reka), which starts on the right, after the Auberge Alpina, and follow it to the beginning of the chemin de la Cabane de Tracuit. After the Alpine pasture, upstream from the waterfall, stay on the right-hand path, which crosses the river. Walk behind the Roc de La Vache (viewing point over Zinal and the valley floor), then walk down to the Lac d'Arpittetaz. From this lake, follow the path that goes downhill, crosses two bridges and then, on th right, meets the path of the Plats de la Lée.
Variant 1
Do this circular walk in the opposite direction. Cross the Plats de la Lée and take the path that leads to the Lac d'Arpittetaz (4h30 Average).
Variant 2
Please note: The Pas du Chasseur shortcut, at the end of the Plats de la Lée, above the right bank of the river Navisence, shouldbe avoided by anyone who suffers from vertigo or who is walking with a dog or children. The Pas du Chasseur is a small cliff fitted with chain, and should be attempted only by those who possess the necessary abilities (1h20 - difficult).
