Make a real step back in time…
Resulting from a collector's passion, the museum is aimed to pass on the history and heritage of Swiss old trades within a 3-storey raccard, located at an altitude of over 1290m.
The museum houses some 500 tools and objects dating from the 17th to the early 20th centuries, which keep alive the life and activities of mountain people of yesteryear. On display : 17 trades, including woodworking, ironmaking, food production, agriculture and housework.
The ground floor has been transformed into a cellar "Caveau de la Société du Village", where you can see some winegrowers and coopers tools. The barrels contain the famous vin du Glacier and also Petite Arvine, Malvoisie and Ermitage. This cellar is used for maturing cheese as well.
Outside you find the entrance to the heart of the museum, where 23 display cases on two floors are available to visitors. Visitors can try some of the tools on display.
Groups are welcome on request.
The museum is open all year round by booking in advance.
