To open the festival, JAZZ SOUS LES ETOILES chose the captivating voice of Dida Guigan.

Lebanese by birth, adopted in Switzerland, Dida studied jazz singing at the Haute Ecole de Berne. She returned to Beirut to be reunited with her biological family and to discover the music of her roots.

Back in Switzerland, she surrounded herself with Swiss and Arab musicians to form the Beirut Express Quintet, a skilful blend of jazz and oriental music in which her voice expresses itself with unequalled talent and warmth. Jazzmen Noé Tavelli and Manu Hagmann provide a solid rhythmic foundation for the ensemble in this new project. Multi-talented pianist Mirko Maio adds an inspiring, lively touch alongside Samir Nasr Eddine, a master of the Arab lute, the oud.
